Residents and businesses warned about increase in fake bank notes

West Oxfordshire residents are being warned about an increase in the circulation of fake £20 notes.

Thames Valley Police issued the warning to residents and businesses on social media.

They said: “We’re advising local businesses and residents to be on alert following a recent increase in counterfeit £20 notes being used in our area.

“These fake notes can look convincing at first glance — please take a moment to check your cash carefully.
